POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the Supervision of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Equipment Section (CBRN) Chief, the CBRN Trainer will perform day to day operations and all assigned tasks in support of Unit Operations.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Provides classroom instruction courses on the operation, installation, alignment and maintenance of CBRN equipment.
Directs US military personnel in the operational verification "mask fit" revalidation using the M41 Protective Assessment Testing Instrument (PATS)
Engaged in issuing, receiving, storing and testing CBRN equipment.
Performs operator level maintenance on CBRN and related equipment.
Organizes repairable storage area in accordance with regulation.
Inspects products or materials issued or received to authorized customers.
Coordinates with customers to organize delivery and receipt of equipment.
Recommends the ordering of parts to ensure delivery as scheduled.
Assist in maintaining and updating the MAXIMO data base.
Maintains the training aids for the CBRN warehouse
Maintains the records of all equipment that has been turned in for service.
Receives and inspects equipment upon return.
Performs other related tasks as directed.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Knowledge of CBRN Defense Equipment is required.
Knowledge of safety and procedures involving equipment is required.
Knowledge of Army supply system including DLIS FEDLOG is required.
Knowledge of safety and hazardous materials management procedures and application is required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet.
May be required to work an uncommon schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work extended hours and evenings, as mission requires.
Must have professional appearance
Required to observe all safety, security, and health requirements for office, warehouse, and outside environment
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High Diploma and 3 - 5 years of related experience
Experience:
Approximately five (5) years of Chemical Operations experience in any branch of the US Armed Forces or equivalent civilian service.
Two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred.
2 - 3 years of experience with military maintenance record keeping methods.
Graduate of US Army Instructor Training Course (ITC) or civilian equivalent.
Skills:
Ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor is required.
Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels [to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers].
Strng interpersonal and negotiation skills are required.
Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork is required.
Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion is required.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload is required.
Demonstrated strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract and compile data for analysis, are required.
Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is required.
Ability to anticipate internal client needs is required.
Intermediate ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written is required.
Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications is required.
High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately is required.
Clearance/License:
A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Driver’s License are required.
Must be able to maintain USG Network access & CAC card privilege(s).
