UNITAR Division for Peace groups together all programming in the fields of conflict prevention, peacemaking, peacekeeping and peacebuilding to provide the most comprehensive support to the promotion of peace, justice and strong institutions worldwide, thereby essentially advancing the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 16. In the view of promoting democratic governance and human rights, the Division focuses on
offering innovative capacity-building and knowledge-management solutions for a broad range personnel (including uniformed personnel, representatives of regional and international organizations, United Nations staff, women peacemakers, minority and indigenous peoples’ representatives) working towards sustaining peace, while ensuring that these activities meet the specific needs of conflict-affected and post-conflict countries.
La Division de la paix de l'UNITAR regroupe tous les programmes dans les domaines de la prévention des conflits, du rétablissement, du maintien et de la consolidation de la paix afin de fournir le soutien le plus complet à la promotion de la paix, de la justice et d'institutions fortes dans le monde entier, faisant ainsi essentiellement progresser la mise en œuvre de l'objectif 16 du développement durable. GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTRACT / OBJECTIFS GÉNÉRAUX DU CONTRAT:
The Pre-deployment Training and Advisory Team is seeking qualified candidates to support the training of military / police medical and para-medical personnel in the area of first aid in emergency settings. Successful candidates will become part of UNITAR trainers’ roster and would be called upon to support training sessions as needed. A consultancy contract would include travel costs, standard UN Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA), standard Terminal Expenses, as well as a fee.
L'équipe de formation et de conseils en pré-déploiement recherche des candidat(e)s qualifié(e)s pour soutenir la formation du personnel médical et paramédical militaire/policier dans le domaine des premiers secours en situation d'urgence. Les candidat(e)s retenu(e)s seront inscrit(e)s sur la liste des formateurs(trices) de l'UNITAR et seront appelé(e)s à soutenir des sessions de formation selon les besoins. Un contrat de consultant comprendrait les frais de voyage, l'indemnité journalière de subsistance des Nations Unies (DSA), les frais terminaux standard, ainsi qu'une rémunération.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE:
at least 3 years of experience as trainer in the area of medical support (including physical and psychological first aid in emergency settings, CASEVAC and MEDEVAC). Experience in the security sector (military, police or related field) is considered as an asset; field experience and / or experience of deployment in a peace operation (UN or non-UN) is an asset.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma and at least eight months of general / specialized medical training (such as paramedic training and emergency medical technician (EMT) training) are required.
LANGUAGES:
Fluency in English and / or French (written, verbal) is a requirement; fluency in any other UN language is an asset.
OTHER:
Basic IT skills (PowerPoint, Word) are required.

au moins 3 ans d'expérience en tant que formateur dans le domaine du soutien médical (y compris les premiers secours physiques et psychologiques dans les situations d'urgence, CASEVAC et MEDEVAC). Une expérience dans le secteur de la sécurité (militaire, police ou domaine connexe) est considérée comme un atout ; une expérience de terrain et/ou une expérience de déploiement dans une opération de paix (ONU ou non ONU) est un atout.
ÉDUCATION:
