Job Description

Close Combat Weapons Instructor: Instruction of current shooting techniques in support of NTTP 3-05.24 and other related NTTPs. Instructors are required to re-certify annually in current NTPs.

SME and able to instruct in the following:

Close combat marksmanship with carbine, pistol, and SOPMOD optics, illuminating and aiming devices.

Time static, dynamic, and reactionary target engagement from 7-1000 meters
Weapons flow, immediate reaction, transition and malfunction remediation
Shooting on the move and use of barricades, concealment, and cover
Multiple threat engagement to include priority of threat and shoot-no-shoot scenarios
Low light to no light target engagement
Operator standards test
Additional Instructor Qualifications:

Preferred one year experience in curriculum development and management
Preferred graduation from Federal Law Enforcement agency or SOF Unit COL.
Preferred completion of a multi-day military/LE focused advanced course of tactical shooting
2 years’ experience planning, coordinating, and instructing SOF operators in their assigned discipline.
Instructors perform logistics support for each field exercise. Logistics support may include: coordinating with other on-hand instructors to provide SME expertise. Instructors assist with performance of risk assessments and assigning a level of risk associated with corresponding factors (weather, distance from emergency medical care, on-hand equipment, instructors to student ratio, level of proficiency of each student) in determining the success of the exercise.
Assist in making recommendations for training schedules/curriculum, scheduling training sites and ranges, reviewing student rosters, and identifying equipment shortages to the government instructors or COR.
Required to assist in setup and coordination of equipment in the practical field environment (i.e., targeting systems, marine reconnaissance vehicles, sandbags, etc.).
Be physically fit and able to work in an environment that is fast-paced while completing multiple tasks, and meeting stringent timelines. Specifically, the instructor must be physically capable of performing on-site practical instruction for periods of up to 20 hours, in conditions ranging from minus 5 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. During this period, the contractor shall be required to engage in physical activities such as running, swimming, climbing, and lifting (up to 75 lb).
