What You’ll Get to Do:
As an AFRICOM Counter-IED Planner, you will provide planning and analysis support that assists the geographic combatant command in meeting its strategic and campaign objectives.

The AFRICOM Counter-IED Planner provides Counter-IED, Counter-Improvised Threat and
Counter Threat Network analysis and expertise to the J34 staff element.
This role supports the Security Cooperation function in the AFRICOM C-IED Fusion Cell (ACFC).
The AFRICOM Counter-IED Planner coordinates with Security Assistance and Security Cooperation planners to ensure Counter-IED, Counter-Improvised Threat and Counter Threat Network requirements are satisfied
As a Counter-IED Planner for security cooperation efforts, you will be responsible for providing expertise in Counter-IED authorities for the training and equipping of foreign partners the development of longer term capacity building programs, the assessment of these programs and to ensure mission success of bi-lateral and multi-lateral cooperation efforts, as required.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent years of experience
5-7 years’ experience on a battalion/brigade/division staff, an exploitation laboratory, and/or a combination of 7 years of EOD, Maneuver, Intelligence, or C-IED experience.
Required Training, Clearances, etc.:
EOD or C-IED Level 1. Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) or Service Staff College or Service Strategist experience.
Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
