Job Overview
ECP Guard Force Personnel will be managed on a day to day basis by the Guard Force Shift Supervisor to provide access control duties and emergency responses. ECP Guard Force Personnel forms part of the ECP Guard Force that is responsible for maintaining security and access control to Living Support Area-2 (LSA-2). ECP Guard Force Personnel will comply with the intent of the Performance of Work Statement (PWS) section 7.3.3 to 7.3.4, which relates to LSA-2 (H-6) LSA Security and Entry Control Point Security.
Roles and Responsibilities
ECP Guard Force Personnel will work 12-hour shifts, rotating within designated positions during his shift. The goal is to mitigate potential risks and defeat adversarial threats at LSA-2 Entry Control Points. They will engage as
primary and supportive role to an emergency.
ECP Guard Force Personnel will remain diligent and maintain a professional posture.
ECP Guard Force Personnel must be able to perform duties in a standing posture with PPE for the duration of his shift or rotations. Relief breaks are given.
Provide armed response to any threat encountered at the Entry Control Point, ensuring that he adheres to Rules for Us of Force.
Be present and ready for work at every Guard Mount.
Be able to conduct ID checks, person and vehicle searches, conduct challenging procedures, man observation posts.
Ensure that his personal weapon and equipment are maintained and inspected.
Conduct OJT training as directed from the ECP Supervisors.
Provide Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs) for example, badge identification checks, random vehicle and person searches.
Conduct rehearsals/exercises in accordance with the OJT lesson plans, QRCs, SOPs, Post Orders, and direction of the Expat Supervisor and LSA2 Guard Force Supervisor.
Be prepared to participate and in combined exercises initiated by the QRF Manager and LSA-2 Guard Force Supervisor.
Be prepared to deploy and defeat threat that may manifest and engage to either determine friend-or-foe and/or to neutralize threats in line with Use of Force Policy. Act as part of a standby team because 'off duty' teams can be recalled at any time and required assemble at locations determined by the LSA-2 Guard Force Supervisor.
Qualifications & Certifications
Essential: Knowledge of Security techniques and understanding of procedures, including, physical barriers, static guards, vehicle /personnel search methods at entry check points, defensive operations.
Essential: Strong awareness of Military doctrine, operational concepts and security concepts.
Skills, Abilities And Years of Experience
Essential: Acceptable English speaking, reading and writing.
Must be physically able to conduct daily duties without restrictions.
Must be thoroughly familiar with LSA2 SOP and LSA2 SRT SOP.
Must have the willingness to learn and obey orders from his superiors.
Must be able to handle and use a weapon safely at all times.
Minimum 3 years' experience in the military or in civilian police or other Government Law Enforcement agency.
Experience with Private Security Companies is highly desirable.
Able to perform duties for up to 12 hours, often in austere conditions to include extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain or snow, while wearing necessary PPE (body armor for example).
Consistently demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness loyalty and commitment.
Must be able to function well as part of a multi-national team by understanding cultural factors and sensitivities when working with Iraqi Military and Iraqi civilian co-workers.
Willing to be flexible regarding hours and respond quickly to time sensitive or urgent requirements.
Ability to work in harsh climatic conditions and under austere living conditions with the potential for an element of danger.
Ability to work under pressure, exercise good judgement and use own initiative to make effective decisions.
