Security Adviser - National (INT6055)
The Role
We are looking for Security Advisor to advise field staff and managers on security issues, with a particular focus on learning and development, systems and resources, with the aim of maintaining high standards of security awareness, planning, practice, and management, so as to minimise risks to staff whilst maintaining effective Oxfam programme work.
What we are looking for
Our next Security Advisor will require:
• Graduate or master’s degree in a related subject or relevant experience.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and representation skills.
• Experience working in security management organizations in a conflict environment.
• Proven influencing and to negotiate skills including with armed actors in complex circumstances.
• Experience of building capacity of national teams in security management processes, including the delivery of field-based training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the capacity to remain calm under pressure and not lose sight of strategic priorities.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
• Computer literate (Inc. good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Publisher)
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• A sound understanding of the importance of gender.
• Willingness to travel at short notice and in sometimes difficult circumstances.
• Committed to Oxfam principles.
•Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written)
• Previous experience working with Humanitarian organizations
