Armament Technician Lead , Kabul

***THIS POSITION IS IN AFGHANISTAN AND OFFERS A 90/30 ROTATIONAL SCHEDULE***

Leidos is currently seeking an Armament Technician Lead to support the MD-530 in Afghanistan. The Armament Technician Lead will work and travel in between customer sites as needed. Customer sites include Kandahar, Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Shall possess weapons repair certification from various manufacturer for the weapons required by Task Order.
Maintains weapons logbooks, maintenance data forms, and weapons fault isolation, remove and replace faulty weapons hardware, verification of repairs of the weapons systems and load/unload weapons as required.
Provides launch and recovery operations of installed weapons at the FARP.
Performs only authorized maintenance as per OEM standards.
Orders repair parts as required, maintains authorized stockage list (ASL) database.
Accounts for all weapons in her/her custody.
You will be required to travel, live and work in austere and hostile conditions throughout assigned areas in Afghanistan and may be required to wear approximately 35 lbs. of body armor equipment during duties.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma and Factory certification - Required
5 years Military, Law Enforcement or equivalent Civilian Armorer; 1 year OCONUS
Candidate must posses an A&P certification
Candidate should have well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must have an active NACI with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Possess a full understanding of US DoD military aviation maintenance operations
Ability to work in a team environment

As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
US Citizen
Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Possess a valid state driver’s license
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.

Work experience in austere environments such as Afghanistan
Basic computer skills
Strong professional interpersonal skills
Military deployment experience is highly desired and deployment experience to the CENTCOM region is desired
