KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE (What you need to know and apply)
Understanding of the impact of the complex mission Vision and Values on the departments operations.
Apply the principles of the service ethos of the complex.
Know and apply relevant Human Resource Legislation.
Know and apply sound supervision principles
Know and apply the operational policies, procedures and standards of the department.
Knowledge of surveillance systems e.g. CCTV
Knowledge of safe and key systems
Know and apply sound cost control
Good technical knowledge of security legislation and service agreements/contracts
Superior knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and standards including First Aid.
Knowledge of safety equipment in all departments on the property
Knowledge of emergency services and police contact numbers.
Knowledge of emergency procedures
Have knowledge of the guests in-house at any given time
Have complete knowledge of the facilities and amenities of the Hotel Complex
Have complete knowledge of the resources available to satisfy guest requests
Have good knowledge of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates and all amenities, attractions, facilities and services available to the guest
Good knowledge of contacts within the police, law enforcement and disaster management and emergency agencies.
Know the basic operation of all other departments, which may impact on the efficacy of this position.


SKILLS (What you are able to do)
Supervise people to ensure maximum productivity
Train and develop staff
Conducting of Annual Fire Evacuation drills as per Civil Defense regulations
Conducting basic Fire Fighting training for various departments
Provide Human Resource guidance to staff in the security department
Control costs
Operate a computer and relevant software i.e. Microsoft word and Excel
Operate and monitor security equipment e.g. radios, surveillance systems (CCTV)
Implement security calls/incident logging system
Provide safety and security service in accordance with legislative and contractual requirements
Observe and identify potential security threats.
Act proactively to minimize risks
Investigate incidents
Liaise with relevant external departments and agencies e.g. police, emergency services and maintain a database of contact information
Implement and monitor operational policies, procedures and standards
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Conduct searches
Resolve conflict and diffuse violent situations
Implement contingency plans
Apply First Aid
Ensure all safety equipment is maintained and in good working order
Accumulate information, record data, and compile reports
Ensure superior service is provided in the all security operations
Resolve guests complaints in liaison with Hotel Management
Conduct meetings
Communicate information to staff and other departments to minimize security risks.
