COOPI in Niger : COOPI's mission in Niger is part of COOPI's mission at the global level: to cooperate in the fight against poverty through the commitment, motivation, determination and professionalism of employees in the field. The strategy is thus based on: close collaboration with the authorities and partners of local civil society; coordination and consultation with humanitarian and development actors in Niger (international institutions and NGOs).
COOPI in Chad : COOPI has been implementing humanitarian and development actions in Chad since 1994. The first interventions were carried out in eastern and southern Chad. With the start of the crisis in Darfur, COOPI gradually stepped up its projects along the border with Sudan and was one of the first NGOs deployed in this area. COOPI then conducted a number of projects in other parts of the country to respond to various humanitarian emergencies.
COOPI in Cameroon : with several years of experience behind us (1977-2011), since June 2017, COOPI returned to Cameroon to face the humanitarian crisis affecting the resident populations in the Logone-et-Chari department , in the Far North region. In this area, the situation has deteriorated in recent years as a result of violence perpetrated by the terrorist group Boko Haram, which has consequently created a massive flow of refugees and evacuees. Here, COOPI has launched two emergency projects: one related to education, one aimed at food and nutrition security.
Responsibilities
Conduct safe diagnoses (goods, services, activities and personnel) as well as recommendations and action plans with the teams;
Evaluate security plans and specific Security Plan - for the three countries and he / she proposes the required modifications;
Analysis and monitoring : set up a system of analysis and contextual and security monitoring in collaboration with the staff selected by the Cheffes de Mission
Organize a secure communication system (setting up a network of focal points, communication system).
Identification and development : Identify sources of information, develop a network of relevant contacts and identify influential actors.
Draft a final report with recommendations on safety management in jurisdictions indicating: the mission security status document contextual analysis with possible impact on operations; specific training according to need and staff assessment (strengths and weaknesses).
Candidate Profile
Essentials
Minimum 5 years of experience in a position related to security management, particularly in unstable environments as well as in contextual and security analysis;
Ability to train, mobilize and manage national and international teams;
Experience working in NGOs and Africa;
Good knowledge of IT tools / MS Office Pack;
Very good command of oral / written French, excellent writing skills.
Transversal skills
Sensitive to the peculiarities of the local culture in order to adapt your communication and posture according to the interlocutors;
Ability to work in a sensitive political and security context and in a multicultural environment;
Interest and motivation to work in an NGO respecting its values and principles;
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure;
