Position Summary


The Warehouse Operative will receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard Keep records and compile stock reports as well as other warehousing activities related (UNSOS) Food Rations Contract in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.


Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment’s.
Verifies documents of the received material such as Receiving Tally Sheet (RTS), Purchase Order (PO), in addition to the physical verification of the material, discrepancy reporting (if required), RF receiving, Sign the document with remarks and handover to the Supervisor.
Picks the items specified by the supervisor, by choosing the right equipment, verifying the location, pallet ID and quantity.
Chooses the right equipment for placing an item, by searching the suitable empty location, deposit the pallet into the final location and confirm the location through RF scanning (manual).
Supervises any labors if allocated in loading, unloading, pallet building and segregation.
Inspects the equipment daily according to the checklist provided and ensure the working condition, if not it must be reported in the first instance to the warehouse supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


Qualifications & Experience
High school or diploma.
2 years of Experience in Warehousing and Logistics.

Skills:
English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.

Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Transportation: Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.



Abilities:
Extent Flexibility: to be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
Near Vision: to be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Static Strength: to be able to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.

Manual Dexterity: to be able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Multilimb Coordination: to be able to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.



Work Environment
Work location is in Mogadishu, Somalia.


Real Life Support (RLS) i.e. benefits to include housing, leave, meals and travel will be provided in addition to base Salary.
