Job Description
The Security Operations Manager will be responsible for managing travel security and building safety across MENA. This will include supporting staff deployments as well as the site security at our international Bureaus
This position requires a high degree of sound business acumen, independent judgment, technical expertise and functional mastery. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing solutions to address unique regional and business-critical matters at an operational and tactical level
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Security Director other responsibilities for the position include:
To serve as the Security liaison for Sky News Arabia, across assigned physical sites and business units.
Run the Travel Security Program with the Operational Security Advisor to ensure the personal safety of employees, staff, guests, intellectual property and other related company assets are maintained
Proactively evaluate threats, assess risks, plan and implement key travel security initiatives
Conduct threat assessments and develop mitigation strategies, in accordance to the companies risk appetite, aligning physical security with insurance requirements in conjunction with local authority requirements.
Oversee comprehensive travel risk assessment analysis for staff travelling on deployments or for business
Educate staff on internal travel safety standards and communicate with stakeholders to address and develop prevention strategies for higher-risk workplace issues.
Ensure Operational Security Compliance is properly adhered to from an audit perspective
Conduct deployment related security training to staff in coordination with Security Operations Advisor
Brief staff prior to deployments travelling to high or extreme risk locations
Maintain a consistent log of deployments and business travel data, presenting findings to Security Director on a monthly basis.
Support a 24 hour, 7 day a week travel security hotline.
Travel with the Operational Security Advisor and News teams to high or extreme risk locations as and when required.
Oversee Operational Crisis and Incident Management across the Bureaus, ensuring risks are properly mitigated.
Manage the Physical Security Strategy for our buildings/locations, ensuring its implemented at our Headquarters and across our Bureaus.
Define, develop and monitor the physical security policies and processes.
Conduct security inspections/investigations or security audits to resolve problems, clarify suspicious activities, and ensure compliance with security regulations.
Ensure that the strategy is aligned with our All-Risk insurance program and the expectations of Sr. Management.
Develop and run threat assessments and deliver support and training in crisis management, emergency response & business continuity to staff.
Assist with the development and integration of enterprise security systems.
Key Skills, Experience and Education
Previous experience working in corporate security role within the MENA region.
Solid understanding of risk assessment methodology
Capable of handling multiple, complex and paradoxical situations.
A self-starter who is organized, intuitive and a collaborative problem-solver with the ability to be effective in a dynamic and fast-paced.

A creative problem solver with a high level of initiative and a strong sense of personal ethics accountability and consistent follow-through.
Experience with personal protection (close protection) of individuals and smaller teams.
Ability to travel with news teams as their personal protection advisor.

Experience with travel security and site/physical security (CCTV, Guards, Access Control systems etc..

Demonstrates resiliency and sound judgment in dealing with business and corporate challenges.

Must be fluent in English and Arabic.
