Reporting Manager Role H&S Superintendent
Overview
Reporting to the H&S Superintendent, the Security Operations Coordinator is responsible in providing supervision to Security Guards on day to day activities associated to site security with the objective of protecting company assets.
Responsibilities
•Prepare schedule to ensure 24/7 site coverage as well as refinery security activities, shutdowns, special projects and coverage during illness, vacation, or any other authorized leave of absence.
•Ensure all security guards are up to date with provincial licensing requirements, are trained properly on day to day tasks, search techniques as well as fit for work screening
•Organize and oversee K9 searches when requested by either the H&S Superintendent or General Manager
•Investigate all matters relating to site breaches, thefts, and willful damage or vandalism.
•Oversee Security activities to ensure security contractors follow all Alamos Gold safety procedures and governmental regulations
• Assist with budget for department.
•Conduct periodic site security audits, and prepare reports outlining deficiencies.
•Liaison with local, provincial and federal law enforcement agencies and other related government agencies.
•Assist in the preparation and review of security policies and procedures.
•May be required to fill in at the gatehouse should the need arise.
Qualifications
•Minimum grade 12 education
•Post-secondary education in law enforcement/criminology would be an asset
•Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset.
•Valid G Class Ontario Driver’s License
•8-10 years’ experience in Law Enforcement and/or extensive security experience in industrial setting
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
•Good understanding of the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005
•Able to be flexible, decisive and use superb judgment in decision making
•Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
