The Regional Security and Risk Coordinator will provide high quality, responsive advice and support to the PNG Program to ensure that we are meeting our security and risk compliance obligations. The role will report to, and support the Global Security and Risk Adviser based in Melbourne, in planning for and responding to risk, safety and security issues in a timely and effective manner.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or 5 plus years equivalent experience
Demonstrated security and risk management experience
Demonstrated experience of managing incidents involving high levels of uncertainty in high pressure situations
Working knowledge of security and safety requirements in a local and international setting
Sound knowledge of risk/security and WHS policy and practices
Experience dealing with complex personnel issues across multiple geographies and cultures
High level of cross-cultural awareness – preferably gained by working / living internationally
Sound knowledge of, and commitment to the underpinning values, goals and objectives of AVI and the Australian Volunteers Program. Understanding of and commitment to EEO, WHS, Child Protection and privacy principles **
