Marine Safety and Security Superintendant , Mozambique

The Role:
The Marine Safety and Security Superintendent will report directly to the Port Operations Manager and is responsible for all aspects of Marine Safety and Security. They will work as an interface with client project HSE and Security teams as well as the State Port Authority Agencies to ensure standards are maintained with the Port.

The Marine Safety and Security Superintendent will oversee the development and implementation of the ISPS in conjunction with the Security Department and continue to work with them to make sure vessels comply with the ISPS procedures and completed any security documentation.

Experience:
* Familiar with small vessel operations e.g., tugs, pilot vessels.
* Familiar with Oil and Gas Terminal Operations, including best practices.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Capable of working in a multinational environment, sensitive to the local culture and International workforce.
* Strong computer ability and skills.
* Fluency in oral and written English required; Portuguese language skills advantageous.
* Advanced Training skills.


Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:


* Class 2 Deck or Engineer Certificate, unlimited license
* Minimum 6 years sea going experience including LNG Experience
* Experience working with oil and gas terminals
* Sailed as Chief Officer/ 2nd Engineer on either LNG, LPG Carriers or VLCC.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Preferably worked shore for shipping companies in the HSE department
* OVID Inspector with a minimum of 1 years' experience
* Completed Shipboard Security Officer (SSO) and/or Port facilities Security Office (PFSO) course
* Oil Tankers. Oil and Gas endorsement preferable
