Description
SAIC supports the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in providing specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations under the Criminal Division’s International Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP). [https://www.justice.gov/criminal-icitap] ICITAP is a cornerstone of America’s global strategy for combating transnational crime, terrorism, countering trafficking in persons, establishing rule of law and enhancing human rights in developing countries. SAIC is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs. For over a decade, SAIC has fielded hundreds of
highly skilled criminal justice professionals supporting ICITAP and OPDAT.
SAIC seeks exceptional personnel to serve in support of the DOJ ICITAP mission for assisting host nation government agencies develop, train and implement specialized K9 Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detection capacities. This position is a full-time position requiring Senior Law Enforcement Advisors (SLEAs) to work closely with host country officials by delivering K9 IED detection train-the-trainer programs, evaluating and monitoring K9 trainer personnel performance in various work application environments. All work will be performed within the host country at venues selected by host country officials.
This position is a part time on call (PTOC) position and contingent upon Government award.
This position is for various countries across the globe in which SAIC supports ICITAP requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree or above in law enforcement, police science, criminal justice, criminology or related disciplines.
Minimum of 20 years of law enforcement experience, with at least 8 years in a K9 specialty with responsibilities for course development, presentation and management.
Minimum of 10 years of international experience in K9 specialty field.
Certified as a K9 Trainer by a federal, state or local law enforcement agency, the U.S. military, U.S. Coast Guard, or by a federal law enforcement recognized professional K9 accrediting association.
LEAs are expected to meet the physical rigors common to K9 training and work conditions under all weather situations to include extreme heat and high humidity or other climates.
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess or be able to obtain a public trust clearance
Desired Qualifications
Experience across a variety of K9 IED detection applications such as, but not limited to, public transportation sector, checkpoints, government facilities, and commercial retail sector.
Experience working with certain host country officials and familiarity with local customs, policies, procedures and regulations.
Language proficiency in certain host countries
