Summary of essential job functions:
Supervises and manages the Aviation Security Shift Leaders in the performance of their duties, developing written guidance for all personnel under their span of control. Responsible to the Guard Force Manager in managing all flight line security associated posts, with an emphasis on the PAX terminal and Cargo Area. Reports to the Guard Force Manager. The Aviation Security Supervisor is responsible for the overall security of the passenger terminal, cargo area, and ramps for the Balad Air Base facility. The Aviation Security element is made up of two distinct areas of responsibility: Aviation Security Interior and Aviation Security Exterior.
Aviation Security Interior: Serves as a static guard force inside the passenger terminal providing a safe working and holding environment for the passenger terminal personnel to support flight operations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Aviation Security Exterior: Serves as a static guard force outside the passenger terminal and cargo yard 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Roles and responsibilities:
Responsible for managing entry control to Restricted/Controlled Areas
Responsible for securing flight line perimeter and adjacent areas of the flight line
Responsible for ensuring internal and external flight line patrols, either mounted or dismounted, are present; supervises any required static posts
Ensures proper entry procedures are present for the PAX Terminal and associated cargo ramp and facilities
Overseas security for Lockheed Martin warehouse and other facilities as directed
Ensures point security on priority resources (aircraft) is present when required
Provides supervision and leadership to assigned SSG personnel, both expats and LNs
As directed, oversees Mentorship of IqAF personnel assigned to the flight line area
Presents a clean and professional image at all times'leadership by example
Supervises and performs the day-to-day protective security functions as specified in daily post orders and standard operating procedures
Maintains weapons qualifications as outlined in this contract on any assigned weapon(s)
Assist with ensuring proper procedures are followed by both in-bound and out-bound personnel.
Reports violations of orders, procedures and other instructions by remaining constantly vigilant and aware of his soundings.
Works under the supervision of the Aviation Security Interior USN positions providing entry/access control to personnel into controlled while ensuring the passenger terminal is secure.
Uses standard operating procedures to detect and prevent unauthorized intrusions of personnel, vehicles, and contraband in to the controlled area.
Ensure timely reporting of all violations of all directives and policies to higher management and the Base Defense Operations Center.
Makes frequent walking patrols throughout the offices areas and passenger holding area, ensuring nothing suspicious or out of the ordinary and reports findings to his supervisor.
Works under the supervision of the Aviation Security Interior USN positions providing entry/access control to both vehicles and personnel into controlled while ensuring the passenger terminal, cargo yard, and ramp are secure.
Uses standard operating procedures to detect and prevent unauthorized intrusions of personnel, vehicles, and contraband in to the controlled area.
Ensure timely reporting of all violations of all directives and policies to higher management and the Base Defense Operations Center.
Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by management
Minimum qualifications and education requirements
Must be a US citizen able to obtain a US Secret Clearance
At least six (6) years of experience in the US military, preferably in Combat Arms or Security Forces, Military Police or Master at Arms. Must present a DD214 with Honorable characterization of service
Ability to work under pressure, exercise discretion, and make effective decisions
Must be able to function as a team leader; communication skills are critical
At least one (2) year of experience working with diverse cultures in a hazardous/austere contingency environment
Must possess a valid US driver's license
In-depth knowledge of Company's Aviation Security policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to conduct both static and mobile security operations;
Technical and tactical proficiency with various small arms in support of company operations;
Preferred qualifications:
Prefer working knowledge of flight line security operations gained through military or government contract operations
Prior knowledge of USAF flight line and Protection Level Resource Security is highly desired
Physical requirements and working conditions:
Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time.
Ability to continuously walk, stand and move about.
Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting up to 50 lbs.
Frequently bends, kneels and crouches.
Must be able to don and wear protective equipment for up to 12 hours a day.
Must be able to perform perimeter and vehicle patrols.
Ability to work in harsh, outdoor climatic conditions including potential exposure to adverse weather, fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, noise and other environmental hazards.
Able to work under austere living conditions with the potential for an element of danger.
