About the role
We are looking to expand our existing network of Arabic-speaking police advisers with expertise in investigative capability, critical incident response, public order management, community policing, training, leadership development, crisis communications, systems development which could include MI, HR and other management systems, and institutional development to fill a range of roles.
This will include full-time and part-time roles based in Amman who will work together to implement prospective projects in the areas identified above.
About you
Adam Smith International seeks the following:
Skills and qualifications:
A postgraduate degree in a relevant field from a top-tier university;
Strong interest and/or a background in any of the following areas: investigative capability, critical incident response, public order management, community policing, training, leadership development, crisis communications, systems development which could include MI, HR and other management systems, and institutional development;
Excellent inter-personal, communication and cross-cultural skills, including the ability to convey concepts clearly and to understand and meet the needs of a range of stakeholders;
Experience in working on development projects in Jordan and the wider MENA region.
Arabic language required
Experience:
At least 10 years of experience in designing and implementing projects in developing or fragile contexts;
Demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues around policing reform and development;
Demonstrated experience in working on technical assistance projects with policing and security agencies;
Understanding of and commitment to inclusive development, conflict and gender sensitivity and sustainability.
