Responsibilities (CONUS)

FTE - CONUS (60%) Location is in Moyock, NC | OCONUS (40%) Location is in Somalia

ACADEMI Training Center is seeking applicants for an experienced Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and Counter-Improvised Explosives (C-IED) Training Manager/Mentor to assist in CONUS managing, coordinating, and training as well as providing occasional OCONUS Training & Mentoring duties for designated locations. Organizes, directs, and coordinates requested EOD training. Assists in developing additional EOD related Business opportunities.


Manages CONUS requirements to provide EOD Units with Marksmanship Ranges, HLZ/DZ, Urban Training Areas, Shipboard, Container Stack and Pier Training Areas, Explosive Training/Demolition Ranges.

Ensure full continuity of operations at all times.


Qualify designated EOD personnel as Range Safety Officers.

Teach Explosive safety / IED awareness and provided Explosive demonstration.

Teach Explosive safety / IED awareness and provided IED lane recognition of key indicators for

Develop relationships with prospective EOD customers, while maintaining existing customer relations.

Other duties as assigned.


RESPONSIBILITIES (OCONUS)


Provide customized Counter-IED training and subject matter expertise to in support of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

Presents assigned topics in accordance with approved curriculum, covering C-IED Familiarization Training, Basic Dismounted and/or Mounted Operations Training, IED-D Equipment Training, Basic Site Exploitation Training, Route Clearance Operations, and Convoy Operations.

Embed with Unit personnel after training completion to continue mentoring during local route-clearance operations as well as requested convoy and operational patrols.

Assist in the development of training/mentoring using and incorporating UNMAS Guidelines.

Assist and support the formation of a route clearance platoon.

Coordinate and interact with Task Order Project Manager and the-designated Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team as required.

Provide mentoring progress reports when required, to include but not limited to, objective and capability assessments, training input/feedback and After Action Reports (AAR).

QUALIFICATIONS


High school diploma or equivalent is required. BA/BS degree preferred.

Must have a valid U.S. passport and driver's license.

Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated C-IED, IED-D, or EOD operational experience.

Minimum of 1 year of C-IED, IED-D, EOD training experience and/or combat experience.

At least 1 year of demonstrated C-IED, IED-D, or EOD training experience with foreign military forces.

Recent experience (last 5 years) working as U.S. Military EOD preferred.

Expert in assessment, technical review, and validation of explosives-related content and reporting.

Experience in writing and editing of technical analytic products desired.

Business development and capture management experience desired.

Proposal development experience desired.

Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
