We are recruiting an internationally experienced Security Manager with a strong ability to work in a team, a keen appetite for problem solving and an interest in operations for our new country programme in Niger.
This is an opportunity to lead the security & safety set-up of a new country office:
Implementation of the security risk management policy of NRC in Niger;
Orient and supervise the national security staff;
Monitor the implementation and compliance of NRC security risk management policy and reduce risks by seeking creative solutions for mitigation to (in order of priority): NRC staff, beneficiaries, programs, organisation, and assets;Develop SRAs for all field locations as and when required
Develop a network of community contacts in all field locations, maintaining regular contact;
Work constructively with Programme staff to facilitate programme implementation and expansion of programme activities to Hard 2 Reach locations.
Participate in various security coordination meetings.
You have: Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Security Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context; previous experience of working in complex and volatile contexts; knowledge of the Sahel; experience of humanitarian access; documented results related to the position’s responsibilities; knowledge about own leadership skills/profile; valid driver’s license.
Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal is a requirement; Knowledge and use of at least one local language is an asset.

a competitive salary package at grade 9, as per NRC global or national pay structure
This stage being a start-up, contracts are initially issued for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
