The IA must have:
At least two(2) years experience operating in high risk environments
Previous military or law enforcement experience of five (5) years, with
an excellent record of conduct. Must not have a criminal record and
must not have been dishonourably discharged from service or convicted under the Defence Force Disciplinary Act (1982) (or equivalent) or terminated from employment.
Completed Defence Intelligence Research (and) Analysis Course or
Excellent leadership skills
Experience with risk management including risk management planning
and qualitative risk analysis and
Excellent communication skills, with experience in multiple levels of
communication between various levels of management, internal and external.
Desirable skills also include:
previous experience working in a diplomatic environment
previous in-country experience in a similar capacity and
a working knowledge of Arabic (Iraqi dialect)
Duties
The Intelligence Analyst (IA) is responsible for the gathering of intelligence including:
Advising on security threat and risk issues
Assisting the RSA, OSM and Mobile Security Teams in pre-mission
Liaising with other security/intelligence agencies in order to provide accurate and timely intelligence
Collecting intelligence in conjunction with the SAT
Hosting a weekly intelligence forum on behalf of the Australian Embassy Regional Security Advisor (RSA)
Conducting intelligence debrief of all personnel after operational tasking
Managing and updating venue database and
Providing a security briefing for the CMG.
