Most countries where Enabel intervenes are fragile countries. Enabel must provide optimal safety conditions and minimise security risks for all of its staff members and their relatives. That is why the agency is looking for a Security Advisor to strengthen its teams.
As the Security Advisor of Enabel you are responsible for:
Defining a structured approach of safety and security management within Enabel for future interventions in fragile countries.
Developing, evaluating and improving the security plans in all countries where Enabel is operating and ensuring application thereof in compliance with agency policy and guidelines.
Coordinating and ensuring the implementation of security training programmes for Enabel staff in countries of intervention.
Ensuring active monitoring of the security situation in the countries of intervention in partnership with the Resident Representative, and establishing efficient and regular exchange of information with Operations management.
Managing a crisis unit, where applicable.
Putting in place a security data management system and ensuring continuous evaluation thereof in view of ensuring knowledge-building in the matter within the agency.
The Security Advisor reports to the Operations director.
Your profile:
Qualifications
You hold a master’s degree.
Required experience
You can demonstrate a minimum of 5 years experience in management, consultancy, evaluation, auditing, elaboration of security plans in the private or public sector.
You have 3 years of professional experience abroad in precarious or fragile situations or in contexts characterised by social and political tension.
You have at least 1 year of experience as a trainer.
Required knowledge and skills
Up-to-date knowledge of safety and security management
Good knowledge of risk analysis and risk management
Pedagogical skills
Able to deliver specific results under tight deadlines
Ease of communication with a group as well as face-to-face
Attention to detail
Writing skills
Able to deal with confidential information
Able to be flexible and to adapt to various socio-cultural settings
Mastery of French and English Understanding of Dutch is desired
We offer you:
An open-ended contract based primarily at our head office with regular travel to the countries of intervention.
Our offices are near public transportation in Brussels’ pleasant and lively Marolles neighbourhood.
Gross monthly salary (class 6 HQ): 4 318,93 euros for 5 years of experience. The salary will be calculated in function of the number of years of relevant experience.
Meal vouchers, hospitalisation/healthcare insurance, group retirement savings plan, 24h/24h ETHIAS-Assistance, 13th month, double holiday allowance, 100 % reimbursement of public transportation costs.
