Security Risk Manager

About Your Job:
Operational
Ensure that the global contacts with global authorities in all countries where QR operate are kept up to date and develop intelligence sources in order to assist in keeping QR staff, equipment and assets safe.
Assist the Line Manager in intelligence gathering, initiatives and liaise with other airlines and any other 3rd party intelligence providers.
Advise the Regulatory Compliance Team of any emerging threats. Advise the Management of any developing or occurring threats and recommend additional security measures.
Conduct security surveys of specified Qatar Airways facilities to ascertain organization, people and layouts, threat/vulnerabilities, probability of threat and frequency, impact of event, options to mitigate threats, feasibility of options, cost benefit analysis, most suitable option and recommend best option to the Management.
Maintain high degree of confidentiality with regards to information and ensure that information is secured and looked after in an appropriate manner.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Conduct Security Risk Surveys, assessments and audits of specified Qatar Airways facilities. Conduct Security Risk Assessments of proposed new Qatar Airways stations.
Conduct security risk identification, analysis and assessment on a specific company operation, risks or threats affecting or could potentially effect Qatar Airways operation.
Perform security research and assess threats on behalf of Qatar Airways Group and attend to chartered, scheduled and VIP flight operation requests from different business units in order to achieve risk free operations.
Keep up-to-date and constantly monitor terrorist and criminal organisations' activities across the globe, their motives, capabilities, hierarchy, intentions and interests and analyse their potential impact on Qatar Airways employees, passengers, brand and assets and advice the Manager Security Risk and Threat on countermeasure to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.
Monitor developing threats within the Qatar Airways network and maintain awareness of: Regional, country and local security situations directly affecting staff in airport and town offices and crew hotels and monitor potential threats that could develop rapidly.



Stakeholder Management
Represent Qatar Airways at internal and external forums and presentations ensuring that the airline is appropriately represented and that Qatar Airways Security department remains as leading division in the aviation world.
Monitor the global security situation and draft security advisories to the relevant stakeholders to make them aware of specific risks or threats and propose appropriate risk mitigating measures.
Work closely with government agencies and the regulator to implement risk based measures. Work in partnership to foster common understanding of threat and risks, continuously working to build a relationship based on trust.
Represent QR in internal and external forums and presentations ensuring that the airline is appropriately represented and that QR security department remains as leading division in the aviation world.
Monitor and apply world's best practice to identifying threats and implementing solutions and establish:
Sound contacts within the aviation industry by exchanging information within the industry on developing threats and the find best source of relevant intelligence to the identification and management of threats.
Maintain awareness of official threat information regionally and within Qatar.
Maintain the communications tool that advises crew and staff of developing and actual threats, together with the required additional security measures.
Gain credibility with departmental managers and supervisors with a message that encourages them to be alert to changes in normal situations so that potential threats can be identified early.
Develop mitigation measures that are relevant, practical and assist managers to maintain facilitation of the business.


About You::
Qualifications:


Essential
Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level

Preferred
Relevant College or University qualification to min Post-Graduate level


Previous Experience:
Essential
Minimum 7 years relevant experience

Security intelligence, Police, Military, Government or general military Operations/intelligence experience.
Experienced in the conduct of security risk and threat surveys/assessments.

Preferred
Aviation security experience.
Previous Intelligence Analyst training, highly desirable.
Military/Police/Intelligence experience.
