Duties
Basic Function of the Position:
Incumbent serves as investigator responsible for conducting complex and sensitive investigations relating to a four-year construction project within the Embassy compound, and will generally support personnel suitability, fraud, and malfeasance investigations for U.S. Government (USG) by seeking out, uncovering, researching, and analyzing documentary evidence. Conducts and maintains liaison with contractors and vendors supporting the four-year construction project, and also with all host government police, law enforcement, security organizations, and customs and immigration officials.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Officer ranked superintendent of police or equivalent rank or above, with five years of investigative experiences with Kenyan Government, Kenyan police or a private organization.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Kenyan government documentation and procedures; criminal law including criminal procedure code; the Evidence Act, the Traffic Act; laws pertaining to marriage, identification, tax, and similar areas where fraud might occur; security protection procedures including surveillance, static and mobile guard, and VIP protection; methods of obtaining evidence within Kenyan law is required.
Education Requirements:
A University Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology or Anthropology is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
Level III English (Good Working Knowledge) and Level III Kiswahili (Good Working Knowledge) is required. (This may be tested)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Develop and maintain extensive contacts; carry out planning, fact-finding, evaluation, and exercise initiative; draft reports; utilize word processing and email (keyboard); interpersonal skills allowing incumbent to effectively carry out both investigations and guard force monitoring is required. Must possess a valid driver's license (This may be tested).
