The Mission:
The Country Security Officer Iraq will contribute to the security of Siemens personnel, installations and information within Iraq. He/she will support/advise local and regional management in implementing and complying with the requirements of the Regional Security Officer and/or country management, and act as a contact for all security-related issues within the country
What are my responsibilities?
Excellent work experience in Security situation and analysis
In charge for Identification and assessment of country-specific security threats and related risks
Implementation of Siemens travel regulations
When necessary, ensure the security awareness of travelers and provision of adequate security measures for his/her travel
Development and implementation of security concepts and plans for projects
Manage country Property protection, Categorization of sites into protection classes as per Siemens policies in coordination with the business units
Identification and protection of sensitive projects from a know-how perspective
Provision of security assistance and support for international delegates
Provision of security assistance for VIP visits and implementation of the corresponding security concept in cooperation with the Regional Security Officer and/or country management
Supporting the Regional Security Officer and/or country management in any other fields as required
Development and sustainment of contacts with local security and military authorities, local security providers/consultants, counterparts of other companies, embassies and other entities
Implementation of awareness raising measures for information security in close cooperation with the IT and/or InfoSec representatives within the region
Raise staff awareness on important security issues
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Preferably a relevant academic degree, a professional qualification from a recognized security authority or appropriate security experience through working within law enforcement, regulatory enforcement or equivalent experience for a minimum of five years
Minimum of 3y experience working in corporate security or a similar commercial environment in high-risk countries, including practical experience of project management, incident and crisis management, within an international company, a security company or similar experience
Relevant experience in Iraq and other countries in the region is an advantage
In-depth knowledge of the main political and security issues in Iraq and in the region
Good command of English. German and Arabic is an advantage
Able to prioritize tasks and to manage workloads in an effective manner with minimal direct supervision and flexibility in managing multiple and diverse tasks
Ability to analyze and assimilate information from diverse sources, including local and international media outlets, social media outlets, local information sources etc.
Effective problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time critical situations
Sensitive and responsive to the needs of different religious, ethnic, tribal and cultural groups
Proven integrity and high personal standards of behaviour
Networking skills, internally within the region, and externally with authorities, institutions and other entities
Good negotiating and influencing skills
Proven interpersonal skills with an ability to successfully engage with a variety of audiences, particularly CEOs, country management, and other senior managers
