Project Manager (PSD or Static Guarding) - Iraq

We now invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for this role on an Olive Group project in Basra, Southern Iraq - would ideally suit those with Eastern European Background with no notice to serve / available to deploy immediately upon receipt of visa.

MONTHLY RATE: Contractor will be reimbursed a competitive day rate to be communicated on offer email.

ROTATION: rotation to be confirmed at point of hire/when allocated to specific project however candidates need to be flexible and will be driven by operational requirement, all subject to operational necessity.

OLIVE GROUP will provide the Contractor with accommodation, food and insurances whilst you are deployed.

OVERVIEW

The role of the Project Manager is to manage and administer such personnel and resources as may be assigned to a particular contract between Olive Group ("the Company") and its Client such that the contracted service is provided safely, reliably, on budget and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards made known to the Project Manager.


The Project Manager oversees the performance of assigned teams of Personal Security Detail ("PSD") or static guards in a hostile environment. This requires the Project Manager to take full responsibility for the operational preparation, rotational staffing and leadership of assigned personnel who may include Expatriates, Local Nationals ("LN") and Third Country Nationals ("TCN").

The Project Manager will have sufficient experience in the administration and control of mobile and static security operations in remote and hostile environments to be able to achieve the mission, which is to fulfil the terms of the Olive Group contract with its Client. He will also have appropriate experience of contract management. This will require complete responsibility for the contract budget, for assigned personnel and equipment, for associated governance and for effective client liaison

QUALIFICATION:

Minimum of ten years' service in a regular army, reaching a minimum rank of senior non-commissioned officer and with at least 4 years in that position.
Minimum Three years in the private security sector, or other commercial sector (such as health
& safety, or oil & gas) with similar characteristics and challenges
Experience of conducting tactical and operational risk assessment
Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check within the recent 6 months
Previous operational experience relevant to the region
Previous operational experience in a high threat environment
Previous operational experience in the client's sector (e.g. Oil & Gas).


ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES & SKILLS:

Ability to draft detailed and accurate reports, both verbal and written.
Ability to articulate facts in a timely and accurate manner both orally and in writing.
Proven command, control and operational experience in a challenging or high risk environment.
Demonstrable balance with a calm demeanor in response to accident and hostile incident.
Ability to liaise and interact with Host Nation Security and Law Enforcement agencies.
Demonstrable initiative and maintenance of accuracy in high pressure situations.
Ability to identify and react rapidly to security significance issues encountered.
Understanding of the cultural and diversity issues within a team and promotion of harmony.


KEY COMPETENCIES:

Competency in Information Technology and ability to operate MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Formal training in the communication systems in operation within the project.
Fully aware of Olive Group's obligations under its Quality Management System including all Project specific SOPs, Olive Group Policy and directives and Host Nation Laws.
Possessing an experienced based knowledge of training procedures in order to maintain the operational effectiveness and compliance of his team.
Knowledge and experience of working within a Budget.


PERSONAL FITNESS:

Completion of a Medical (self) Declaration and Medical Examination is required, which must show current or pre-existing conditions that might cause personal accident insurers to refuse cover or reject claims under the Personal Accident or Emergency Repatriation policies.

Service with Olive Group involves demanding work in high temperatures and remote locations and will include wearing of Personal Protection Equipment and some heavy lifting, which may include the lifting and carriage of an injured colleague. Running and rapid physical motion may be required for personal safety. Personnel will be required to use a weapon, and to hear and respond to verbal instructions and at times may be exposed to loud noises. Equipment typically carried all day every day amounts to approximately 16kg.
