United Nations Police (UNPOL) Advisor for SGBV- Haiti

PRO-telligent, A TetraTech Company, is seeking an experienced United Nations Police (UNPOL) Advisor for Sexual and Gender based violence (SGBV) The selected candidate will be deployed to Haiti.

This is a management position within MINUJUSTH Administration is to provide managerial, strategic and substantive direction andmentoring to both MINUJUSTH and the Office of Feminine Affairs in the HNP. The incumbent will help establish the Unit’s MissionStatement and Implementation Plan and advise on the needs (material, training and skills) required under the implementation plan including establishment of SOPs for HNP on SGBV/Domestic Violence, based on international best practices. He or she will also assist

in the development of management oversight measures to monitor adherence to implementation plan and SOPs by all HNP members. He/she will also advise on training needs, and assist in identification of training programs that address HNP’s needs to build capacity to respond to SGBV/Domestic Violence. Finally, the incumbent will provide useful advice to the Head of Office of Feminine Affairs in liaising with other HNP/GOH entities (i.e. BPM) the international community and civil society groups working with victims of

SGBV/Domestic violence.

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/law enforcement or related field; an advanced degree; or law enforcement command training through FBI, PERF, SPI, Northwestern or equivalent
10 years of progressively responsible experience in police management and supervision, visionary skills and ability to form strong partnerships in a diverse culture within a full-service U.S. federal, state, municipal or county police agency
2 years of experience at the rank of Lieutenant or equivalent
Demonstrated experience in gender affairs
Ability to build and maintain key relationships in a culturally diverse environment and negotiate the resolution of conflicting views to enable project implementation
Ability to possess/maintain Minimum Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification
Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Proficiency in French and/or Haitian Creole

Preferred Qualifications:
Overseas experience in senior level position on an international police assistance mission.
