Security Manager - West Africa

Job Description


The Security Manager West Africa (WA) will drive the Security Services business development to the International SOS and Control Risks distribution channels in order to drive customer satisfaction and profitable growth in West Africa.

The senior regionally-based security expert, driving the development of our unique provider network, including information sources, in order to support the delivery of best-in-class analysis, advice and assistance. Supporting our global client base, with a specific focus on French-speaking clients, with business operations in West Africa.


Support to Business Development

Support the growth of the security services business in the UK&I, through a focus on quality of service and support to International SOS and Control Risks sales and marketing efforts:
Manage security sales pipeline in conjunction with the sales teams
Major focus on driving the growth of security services business as a key strategic agenda
Contribute to Sales team efforts to win significant new business and renewal opportunities
Support cross border security sales
Participate in International SOS and Control Risks marketing activities, including speaking engagements
Coordinate joint security opportunities and drive cross border referrals to and from Control Risks
Advocate for regional clients through localisation and innovation of services
Provide local market, customer and competitor insight, particularly on Security Managed Services and Digital Travel Risk Mitigation

Security Operations
Contribute to the provision of high-quality written and verbal travel risk management advice and assistance, in line with agreed service delivery standards
Create/ contribute to unique localised content in English
Supervise the Europe Regional Security Centre (RSC) security operation in accordance with the roster
Participate in the On Call roster for Europe RSC as required
Contribute to the implementation of regional and global quality improvement initiatives to improve service delivery
Engage with the feedback mechanisms of the Quality Management System as user and supervisor

Client Support, Consulting & Training
Ensure appropriate Security Services resourcing to the Assistance Centre Experience (ACX)
Ensure customer feedback is captured through the appropriate channels
Support to the onboarding of new clients
Manage the delivery of training services to clients in the UK& either personally or through approved external consultants
Assist in the delivery of other types of consultancy service (e.g. Escalation Planning, Risk Policy Advisory and Simulation Exercises) to clients as required.
Drive commercial opportunities including referrals to Control Risks
Support in the development of new solutions
Provide feedback via the quality system on any Consulting and Training delivery within the region as per performance indicators

Escalation Management & Support
During major escalations, and supporting the lead RSC and Client Liaison Group (when activated), lead outreach to clients with information based on the approved Party Line / Client Brief
As required, travel to support RSCs’ situational awareness, assess/develop local provider capabilities and expanding the existing network of contacts
As required, be prepared to deploy at short notice as part of an Incident Management Team, primarily in EMEA, but potentially globally

Leadership & Management
Effectively represent Security Services within International SOS and Control Risks
Contribute to the maintenance of succession plans for Security Services EMEA roles through professional and personal networks
Identify internal and external talent for the EMEA RSCs

Key Performance Measures
Financial – revenue, GOP, EBITDA, ROI of strategic initiatives
Customer – satisfaction (measured in NPS), market share and penetration
Business – sales campaign results, project milestones
People – recruitment and retention, employee engagement, cross border integration /engagement between Security Services countries/ regions
Qualifications


Required Skills and Knowledge
Good understanding of security and risk mitigation concepts
Business development, consultancy and sales aptitude
Planning and execution of security operations and/or reporting and analysis and/or risk or crisis management experience
Strong influencing skills
Effective report writing and communication skills
Relationship building and strong presentation skills in English

Desirable Work Experience
Strong knowledge of the global security environment and international relations
Strong experience working in the security industry
Experience in security operations management: in military, government (officer or senior NCO), or private sector roles; ideally including planning and execution of complex security operations
International work experience

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security or international relations studies
Accreditation with an industry body, such as as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS)
Post-graduate degree or relevant professional training in a field related to security or international relations studies an advantage
