Job Description: 

As a Security Professional at Caterpillar, you will provide leadership in support of all processes to ensure the protection of Caterpillar employees, plant and property, proprietary information, reputation and brand and regulatory compliance. You will lead and manage assignments that are broader, more complex and challenging in nature. You will provide guidance within and between units of facility security management. You will also manage and implement delegated global processes within the regions of operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Provide technical guidance within and between units and other teams.
* Gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships and predict and manage failures.
* Challenge the status quo and champion new initiatives, collaborate with team members and other teams, and keep abreast of advancing technology and regulations.
* Make decisions that may affect the work group or project team, suppliers, multiple units and both internal and external customers.
* Identify significant security risks, design and implement strategies and programs to prevent and reduce loss of the organization’s assets.
* Review the work of other support personnel and provide technical advice to individuals at various levels in the organization.
* Assume a significant role, either as an individual contributor or as part of a project team, with increasing emphasis on analyzing, identifying and applying techniques to solve problems and make recommendations.
* Anticipate process partner needs and give high priority to process partner satisfaction and service.
* Develop collaborative relationships and provide expertise, technical guidance, and training to interface interdependencies within assigned global processes.
* Coordinate and manage preventative programs and services to protect against business disruptions in a cost effective manner.
* Assist in the research and deployment of technical solutions to safeguard corporate assets, most importantly, Caterpillar employees.
* Perform standard assignments that require some interpretation of data and regulations, identification of problem sources, and possible remedial actions.
* Identify and evaluate the impact of security risk.
* Identify existing and potential security problems.
* Participate in developing corrective measures.
* Lead in processes to ensure conformance to security standards.
* Lead management system for security functions.
* Participate on teams to ensure conformance with security standards.
* Develop security training programs.
* Lead security audit teams.
* Assist in the development and management of the capital and expense budget for the security operations.
* Communicate to security on status of security issues affecting global processes.
* Provide site security and executive protection functions for key employees while traveling on business based upon assessed levels of risk.
* Coordinate and supervise contracted security protection for diverse executive protection events through guidance, communicated procedures to be used, and the established scope of the protection detail.
* Moderate amount of travel; up to 20% of work time.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:

* A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 4 to 7 years experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service, or private sector security organization
* An understanding and application of security in warehousing environment, different cultures, working across different countries, and experience in an international environment.
* Possess excellent people skills with the ability to interact with and influence senior management to further the global security program.
