Primary Purpose of Job
1. To operate and monitor the Radio and Communications Systems installed in the control room. 2. To deal with security incidents/ occurrences, such as intrusion alarms, in accordance with set procedures. 3. To receive messages, contact all personnel in the emergency callout chart, initiate turn out of security response team (as directed by the Security Officer). 4. Ensure all control room equipment/ systems are functional and report equipment/ system faults to the In-line Supervisor. Maintain a record of all faults, repairs and maintenance status. 5. Maintain regular contact with the regional control rooms and perform routing test calls to test procedures and to ensure functionality of communications equipment/ systems. 6. Distribute warning/ threat notifications to the regional control rooms, as directed by the Control Room Supervisor. 7. Maintain a log of reported incidents in and outgoing. (Includes recording of vehicle or staff movements and action taken in response to incident reports / emergency situations). 8. To constantly update and change information on display boards, access control terminals and record books as advised by the In-line Supervisor. 9. To process emergency security passes after normal working hours, on instruction of In-line Supervisor. 10. Checks, cleans and keeps all operations room equipment/ systems in a serviceable condition.
Education
• Completed Secondary School Education (12 years). • Completed Certificate II Security - Operations and the Control Room Operators Course. • Level 5 English literate with Arabic as an additional preference. • Computer literate MS programs. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to demonstrate maturity in dealing with people.
Experience & Skills
Five years control room experience in a security role.
