Senior Developer/Trainer (Sniper)

Overview
Initiates and coordinates National Guard military Schools (NGMS) Sniper training programs to support the NGMS Training Base in Sniper doctrinal material and the NGMS Sniper POI. Performs as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on training the Sniper POI by being professionally skilled in Sniper training and the systems approach to training process.


A. Duties/Responsibilities:
Develops POI for NGMS programs of instruction in support of Sniper training to enhance training capabilities as directed and prioritized by OPM and NGMS. Develops, staffs, and submits POIs to OPM-SANG for approval.
Coordinates with the NGMS/Sniper Training Wing Commander for any changes as needed.
Provides Sniper Training and assistance to NGMS Officers/NCOs. Assists OPM and MNG with the implementation phase of Sniper training.
Performs duties under the direction of Chief, Special Training Section (STS). Accomplishes responsibilities independently within specialty area IAW established objectives, policies and procedures.
Performs other mission-related tasks as required.
Assists with Sniper doctrine development and standardization procedures in accordance with OPM-SANG Publication Action Team (PAT).
Assists Chief, STS as required.
Ensures POI and training material are developed IAW MNG Management and Operations Procedures (MAOP) Volumes 1,2,3,6, and 11 and Publications Standards Document Volumes 1 & 2.
Conduct Train-the-Trainer (T3) Courses.
Transition as directed in support of the Training Assistance Team (TAT).

B. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Qualifications


A. Education Level: Some College preferred; Graduate of Non-commissioned Officer Basic Course, Basic Officer course, or civilian equivalent preferred.



B. Experience: Former officer or non-commissioned officer with at least 2 years’ experience in U.S. military training methods of instruction and 2-4 years’ experience in a Sniper or Sniper Section Leader position in a combat unit.



C. Must be Sniper qualified. Served as a Sniper Instructor at the U.S. Army Sniper School, U.S.M.C. Scout/Sniper School or Special Operations Target Interdiction Course (SOTIC) preferred. Operational experience as a Sniper in a combat unit desired.



D. Specific Knowledge: Skill and Ability Requirements: Must have knowledge of and experience with the Systems Approach to Training and basic U.S. Army training methodologies. Must have a thorough knowledge of U.S. Military Sniper Operations. Professional training experience in a multi-cultural environment is desired. Must possess superior ability to express thoughts both orally and written. Proficient in the use MS Office Suite Software.
