K-9 Supervisor

The Kenjya-Trusant Group is seeking K-9 Supervisor candidates for The U.S. Department of State, Worldwide Weapons Destruction Support Services contract bid. The Bureau of Political Military Affairs,Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA) oversees all DOS Conventional Weapons Destruction (CWD). Their mission is to reduce the threats posed to civilian security by at-risk, illicitly-trafficked, and indiscriminately-used conventional weapons and explosive remnants of war.

The contract will have a 1 year base and 4 Option Year period of performance.

Roles and Responsibilities
The K-9 Supervisor will be responsible for K-9 training in odor detection and for establishing a training and certification regime to ensure K-9 units are able to respond to the explosive odors contained in AXO/IEDs and other devices expected to been countered in the host nation, including home-made explosives (HME). The K-9 Supervisor will also maintain the readiness of each of the K-9 Handlers, and will observe each K-9 Team in the field to ensure adherence to operating procedures and proper action within the search. The K-9 Supervisor will also manage K-9 health by ensuring medical care, feeding, proper exercise, kennel maintenance, and related activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of three years of experience operating with explosive detecting K-9s in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other conflict areas and should possess accreditation by the national Mine Action Center, as required.
