Job Description:
The NMB Air/Fires Subject Matter Expert will Train, Advise, Assist and Mentor all National Mission Brigade subordinate organization counterparts in duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: Strategic integration, forecasting and planning for the use of ground and air fire assets in support of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) directed NMB combat operations; fire support planning, coordinating with higher, subordinate, and adjacent Afghan National Army Special Operations (ANASOC) organizations in order to facilitate direct/indirect fire support; developing guidance and tasks as required for subordinate forces; identifying the requirements for additional combat forces; planning for, and training of close air support (CAS) supporting MOD/NMB/ANSOC operations; advises and assists with Afghan Tactical Air Coordinator (ATAC) continuation training, and executes duties as assigned. The mentor has an expeditionary role and will perform ETAA missions. NMB Air/Fires Trainer/Mentor will conduct daily training and status updates to senior NATO Military mentors as well as ANASOC Commanders, senior staff at the NMB and ASSF Program Management. Monitor training and actively assists or provide direction as needed to senior MOD/NMB/ANASOC Air/Fires Leadership. Provide the NMB Team Leader and Deputy Program Manager all required data/information for monthly performance review and training reports.

Required Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.

Responsibilities:
Trainer/Mentor will TAAM counterparts on duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Integrating, forecasting and planning for the use of ground and air fire support assets in support of SOB combat operations.
Fire support planning, coordinating with higher, subordinate, and adjacent organizations in order to facilitate direct/indirect fire support.
Developing guidance and tasks as required for subordinate Fire Support forces.
Identifying the requirements for additional Fire Support forces.
Planning for, and training of close air support (CAS) operations.
Advises and assists with Afghan Tactical Air Coordinator (ATAC) continuation training.
Trainers will be responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel.
Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, trainers will be responsible for making on the scene decisions as to how to execute the curriculum.
Along with their local site managers, trainers will be responsible for assessing how well
the students have learned the coursework.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of either the Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) course, Special Operations Terminal Attack Controllers Course (SOTACC), Joint Firepower Course (JFC), or the Joint Forward Air Controller Course (JFAC).
6 years of Special Operations Forces terminal attack controller experience, or other service component equivalent.
Previous combat experience required.
Competent with operating Personal Computer Skills & Microsoft Office
Excellent Interpersonal and People Skills.
Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills.
Excellent Leadership, Organizational and Project Mgmt Skills
Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 month of remaining eligibility
Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan.


Physical & Mental Requirements:
This may become an ARMED position. Must obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). Must successfully complete/maintain all arming requirements including but not limited to: psychological evaluation; completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; and Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior
Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc.; Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain
Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location in AFG based upon needs of the U.S. Government or the Company
Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening in compliance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear
Work, live & respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with extreme aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions

Security Clearance Requirement:

Must have active/current SECRET security clearance. Clearance is required to access and handle classified and personal personnel material, attend project meetings, and/or work within restricted areas unescorted.
Desired Qualifications:

Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers.
Prefer minimum of 12 months previous experience in Afghanistan.
Observer / Controller Trainer (O/CT) certification preferred.
Required Education:

Bachelor's degree from accredited school & six (6) years of related experience, OR four (4) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders.
