Job Description
Minimal Risk are seeking a Senior Risk Analyst (SRA) from the European Union, on behalf of a client, on an ongoing contract in Kabul.
The SRA shall work closely with the EU Delegations Security Cell. Utilising open sources and restricted sources available through foreign diplomatic missions and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan in order to prepare and submit risk assessment reports concerning the security situation in Afghanistan and how it impinges on the business continuity of the EU Delegation.
The SRA must have a well documented career in their risk analysis profession and shall possess the necessary security clearances to be able to receive, process and analyse security intelligence reports that are made available.
By using large sets of internally generated data about movements, routes and other key inputs in addition to externally available threat warnings, incident reports and auto generated datasets (GPS trackers) compile both continuous updated security analysis products as well as ad-hoc responses to management queries.
A large part of the job is to gather and compile relevant data before reformatting it for use with various visualisation method and software to facilitate further analysis and decision making necessary to ensure the safety of the mission personnel and assets.
Having knowledge of the commercial intelligence sector would be advantageous.
Demonstrated Experience
From the complete Intelligence Cycle (Planning, Collection, Analysis, Dissemination)
Assessing and analysing Threat Warnings in hostile/war/conflict environments
Excellent Report Writing and Oral Presentation skills
Information Visualisation using various infographics (heat maps, timelines, chart and plots)
Training and Education
Formal intelligence training (Military or Police)
Theories of Risk Decision Making
Cognitive Process
Information Management
ANACAPA, Sociograms - Social Network Analysis
Statistics, numerical and quantitative Analysis
Geographic Information Systems
Extra meriting is experience from Big Data implementations such as Hadoop
Software Skills
MS Word, MS Powerpoint
MS Excel with GIS and other analysis add-ons
MS Access or similar database experience
IBM SPSS or SAS
IBM i2 Suite or Palantir
Splunck/Tableau/Qlik/Information Builders or similar Business Intelligence platforms
ESRI ArcGIS or similar GIS platform
Search Engines both online and local server based
Must possess a valid EU or EU Member State Security Clearance to SECRET Level or above.
Must be fluent in both oral and written English, with excellent presentation skills and experience in communications and senior/executive management levels.

Must be prepared to undergo a full medical and undertake a Psychometric Test before interview.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience in the intelligence environment
Full EU Driving Licence
Clear Criminal Records check (within the last 6 months)
Professional Weapons qualification (within the last 12 months) on Glock and M4 (Possibly arranged in country if successful)
Medical qualification (FAAW/FPOS(I) or MIRA)
Already holds or previously held a National Security Clearance
