To minimize security risks to our staff and operations thereby supporting the successful implementation of our development programs, GIZ has a Security Risk Management Office (SRMO) in the Palestinian Territories.
Your tasks


The head of the security risk management office for the Palestinian areas works under the direct supervision of the Senior Security Risk Manager – Middle East and the technical supervision of the corporate security department.

He/ she is responsible for operative implementation of Country Security Risk management and advises the country director, as well as all staff members on all matters relating to personal security and security risk management. In particular, he/ she:
Leads and manages a team of up to 10 people and carries the responsibility for all strategic, conceptual, administrative and financial aspects of the project
Drafts operational plans and ensures the implementation of the project in accordance with strategic guidelines commission
Ensures a professional monitoring and knowledge- management system
Designs and Implements the company-wide security risk management strategy
Drafts and implements country-specific requirements of GIZ’s minimum security standards
Continuously monitors the security situation in project areas and produces oral and written reports
Supports the country office and projects with the preperation of business continutiy plans
Advises the country director on security-related aspects
Drafts situation-oriented standard operating procedures based on GIZ’s security risk management system
Implements risk assessments based on GIZ’s security risk management system (once a year)
Implements geographically based security risk assessments (rolling updates as the situation evolves)
Compiles emergency and hibernation, relocation and evacuation plans at the country level
Implements the special organisational structure for organising country-specific crisis management activities
Trains the local crisis management team
Coordinates local crisis management activities at the country level
Submits reports to the country director and to the Corporate Security Unit
Conducts debriefings after security-related incidents (after-action reviews)
Drafts lessons-learned reports
Establishes and maintains a security network within the country of assignment
Implements daily security risk management activities at the operational level
Provides support to projects on aspects related to security risk management as part of project design and implementation
