Main purpose of job:
The person in this position will lead and manage the Embassy security team and become the first point of contact for security matters.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Embassy security team. They will be expected to manage protective security systems and keep security policies, up to date. They will need to demonstrate an ability to keep abreast of the local security threats, security environment and be able to identify emerging security trends, including by maintaining contact with security officers in other Embassies, local private businesses and with the Diplomatic Police. They will be expected to monitor risk and recommend actions to improve security policy and procedures where necessary.
The selected candidate will manage and directly supervise the Embassy and Ambassador’s Residence Security Team, ensuring effective cover while managing resources efficiently. Additionally he/she will manage security contracts with third party contractors.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: his/her ability to work without supervision; prioritise work; ability to work under pressure; availability and flexibility to work outside regular working hours, be a team player; strong organisational, analytical and time management skills, with very good attention to detail and be willing to travel for training.
