Description
The J7 Training Mentor will TAAM GCPSU and all subordinate organization counterparts in duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: assigning, attaching, and supporting personnel and forces; assisting the J3 in the command and control of training; planning, coordinating, and integrating special police operations; recommending and publishing plans and orders; assessing operations for the commander; developing guidance and tasks as required for subordinate forces for conducting training; identifying the requirements for additional training of the force; managing the training assessment process; disseminating the results of training planning; assessing, and coordinating training events; training subordinate organizations; conducting analysis and coordinating future training operations. The mentor will TAAM counterparts to serve as the single point of contact for all training operations and requirements; establish and organize functional related joint boards, working groups, and training planning teams; develop, manage, and execute large scale national-level multi-echelon joint exercises and training events for GCPSU incorporating other GIRoA organizations, and execute duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Shall be honorably discharged from service and will have a minimum of one-year U.S. Army or Marine Corps Brigade Combat Team/Battalion-level training management experience or equivalent; preferably with experience at the Division-level or higher working in a J7 or J37 capacity. Shall be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Combat and Special Operations Forces experience preferred.
Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC
* Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations
* Must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility
* Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa
* Must be in possession of and maintain an appropriate-level current/active security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment
* Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract
* Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required. Force protection will be provided by authorized sources.
* Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
