Primary Function
Responsible for in-country K-9 supervision of task order. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.
Essential Functions
Responsible for K-9 training in odor detection and for establishing a training and certification regime to ensure K-9 units are able to respond to the explosive odors contained in AXO/IEDs and other devices expected to been countered in the host nation, including home-made explosives (HME)
Maintain the readiness of each of the K-9 Handlers
Observe each K-9 Team in the field to ensure adherence to operating procedures and proper action within the search
Manage K-9 health by ensuring medical care, feeding, proper exercise, kennel maintenance, and related activities
Job Requirements
Must have a minimum of three years of experience operating with explosive detecting K-9s in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other conflict areas
Should possess accreditation by the national Mine Action Center, as required
Must have experience in all canine related equipment
Must have experience in basic canine emergency first-aid as needed
Ability to work in a remote and potentially austere location
Must possess valid passport
Must be available to work outside the normal schedule when dictated by needs of the company
Ability to work in harsh working conditions, outdoors, and/or in extreme temperatures
Must be willing to deploy OCONUS
Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation at a frequency as required by contract
Must be able to pass a physical approving candidate for overseas work
Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements
