The Fire Fighter will be primarily based at one of three BLiSS Sites that serve the Life Support Services contract in support of the State Department. The Fire Fighter will be responsible for
providing Fire and Emergency Services, utilizing resources to accomplish operational requirements, and will report to their assigned Crew Chief. The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive:
Serves as a structural and airport firefighter, first responder, and HAZMAT responder on a scheduled rotation
Participates in Fire and Emergency Services activities including: fire suppression, EMS, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre-fire planning, Fire Company training, public education, clinical training and routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment and facilities
Supports Emergency Management functions as needed
Additional tasks and special projects as assigned
REQUIRED:
Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required
Education: High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Fighter I
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Fighter II
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard HazMat Awareness and Operations
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Airport Fire Fighter
DOD First Responder and CPR Certified
Valid Driver’s License from country of origin
Experience: One to five (1-5) or more years of Fire Fighting experience
Security Vetting: Must possess a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) security clearance, maintaining eligibility for the duration of the contract
Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination
Language Skills: Expert professional, oral and written English communication skills, to present, facilitate and disseminate information
Work Ethic: Commitment to maintaining a high performance team which delivers customer service excellence
DESIRED:
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Driver Operator Pumper, Mobile Water Supply, and or ARFF Driver Operator
At least two (2) years’ of international experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in Fire and Emergency Services, with the ability to maintain all required certifications and licensures
Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
Computer skills, specifically in use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change
