Main purpose of job:
The PSM will be the lead operational liaison officer between the Deputy High Commission and host nation authorities, to include; Sindh Police, Rangers, Frontier Corps, Foreign Security Cell, Airport Security Force and other Government Departments as and when needed. They will be the primary focal point for all matters relating to the guarding contract, including liaison, co-ordination and overseeing management of the contract and compound security. The PSM will also be an advisor to the Overseas Security Manager and Post Security Officer for all security matters attributed to the local security environment, including background knowledge of key incidents, dates and cultural or religious events.
Roles and responsibilities:
In consultation with OSM, carry out continuous security needs assessment of BDHC, physical, personnel and procedural security.
Report to OSM for all security matters and deputise in absence of OSM.
Overall responsibility for control and monitoring of CCTV and Tracking system. Train and monitor the Guard supervisor and response teams for reacting to the system and basic fault finding. Liaison with relevant companies.
Provide out of office hours support and link between OSM and contract guard. Conduct surprise checks of the Guard Force and other agencies deployed within and around the BDHC.
Provide timely and relevant security situation updates to all staff through various appropriate communications.
Location security; advise and monitor security for interior Sindh including liaising with all Law Enforcement Agencies for provision of security arrangements for field visits. Security consultation with venues prior to visits.
Event security; co-ordinate access control, parking, search and escort procedures, emergency planning and LEA support for BDHC events.
Training; Organise guards fire fighting and equipment training, assist and lead staff security training.
Logistical support; account for and conduct checks of all security equipment on a quarterly basis, engaging with relevant BDHC staff to complete checks. Establish and maintain working relationships with maintenance and technical support staff.
Ensure daily effective and efficient management of BDHC security control’s, including access control, perimeter security, vehicle search, visitor handling and pass management system.
Be prepared to assist with crisis planning and management.
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with commercial and diplomatic security contacts.
Close liaison with security department of the High Commission in Islamabad, working in conjunction with each other to maintain parity across the security network.

Essential qualifications and experience
Other skills / experience / qualifications:
Essential on arrival:
Previous military experience achieving min rank of Major or equivalent.
Experience managing large teams, preferably a guard force or military unit.
Experience in event security or event management
Experience in incident management/control
Good understanding of perimeter security and access control
IT literate; competent with Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable:
Basic technical skills to use a CCTV system
Familiarity with various communications systems
Familiar with interior Sindh, culture and geography
Security industry experience
