*This position is located at the Relocatable Over the Horizon Radar (ROTHR) Site on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico. The purpose of this position is to conduct entry and access control, support protective services work while guarding U.S. Navy installations, activities and facilities; critical national strategic warfighting assets; personnel and property.

*Vieques is an island off the coast of Puerto Rico. Therefore, for individuals not residing on Vieques, air or ferry travel would be required to get to work. The cost of air travel from various locations in Puerto Rico to Vieques could range from $34 to $100 or more one way, depending upon the location from which you travel. The cost of taxi/rental car to the Ferry could range from $30 to $60 and up depending upon the location from which traveling. The Ferry cost could range from $2 to $26 and up depending on if you are a walk on or brining your vehicle onto the ferry. Temporary housing on Vieques could range from $500 to $7000 per week. However, it is possible to locate other housing for less than $500 per week, if you are willing to check in and out of facilities on a daily basis. However, it is strongly advised that you conduct your own research regarding the travel and housing cost for Vieques. In addition the Ferry authority may give priority to Vieques residents over non-residents going to and from the island.

Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Controlling personnel access by monitoring the identification of individuals entering controlled areas.
Respond to radio dispatch calls for assistance in maintaining the safety and security of people and property.
Use specialized access control equipment (e.g., pop-up barricades, explosive detection equipment) to control access to an installation or secure area.
