REQUIREMENT OVERVIEW: Manage and lead CIED/EOD/FoM Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the execution of Counter Improvised Explosive Device Training, EOD/FoM mission specific training, Electronic Counter Measures specific to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), and other training specific to Afghanistan as directed by the Requirement Owner. Position is with a mobile training team that will work throughout Afghanistan.

POSITION TITLE: EOD/FOM Site Lead/Senior Instructor

WORK HOURS: Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The EOD/FoM Site Lead/Senior Instructor will lead a team of CIED/EOD/FoM SMEs for the assigned Ministry (MOD/MOI) and will provide oversight for CIED/EOD training across Afghanistan. Ensures training objectives are completed on schedule following established procedures and policies. Conduct and monitor daily training of ANDSF students, training cadre, and actively assist or provide direction and guidance to the instructors. Plan, schedule, and arrange course activities in accomplishing objectives in accordance with established training curriculum.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
•Participate in post-course evaluations.
•Participate in continual improvement process.
•Assist in the development of training scenarios in accordance with approved curriculum.
•Assist the Program Manager in creating, maintaining and delivering all required reports.
•Work with mentors to align training and understanding of the CIED/EOD/FoM mission.
•Providing post-training assessments of student performance and present feedback during After Action Reviews (AAR) the conclusion of training.
•Assist the Program Manager with supervision, administration, and support of personnel.
•Assist the Materials Project Manager with logistical support for assigned Area of operation.
•Assist the Program management Office with travel arrangements to the various training locations.
•Utilize Train the Trainer (T3) techniques.
•Other duties as assigned.

Required Operational, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
·Extensive military background is required with at least 6+ years of related experience.
·Must possess formal instructor qualification and strong supervisory skills
·Master EOD technician/EOD officer/Senior Combat Engineer (E8-04)
·Qualified EOD Operator/Senior Combat Engineer with experience training and conducting operations in the Middle East (Afghanistan or Iraq)
·At least 6+ years leadership experience in C-IED or EOD/FoM operations.
·Senior NCO or higher serving in a Leadership position of unit deployed to the Middle East (Afghanistan or Iraq).
·Previous experience working with/using interpreters.
·Sufficient knowledge of current CIED operations in Afghanistan or Iraq area of operations to provide relevant and responsive advice and recommendations.
·Detailed knowledge of training processes to include operational, tactical, staff and leadership programs.
·Knowledge of technological means to counter IEDs.
·Knowledge and experience in Counter Insurgency (COIN).
·Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel
·Good interpersonal, networking, and social skills.
·Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government to include hostile areas.
·Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Kn owledge, Skills and Experience:

·Extensive military background is required with at least 15 years of related experience.

·E-7 or higher with at least 10 years leadership experience in C-IED or EOD/FoM operations.
·Experience working on a staff with CIED or EOD task force divisions .
·Involvement with ANDSF forces on deployed operations.
·Involvement with training Afghanistan military forces.
·A thorough understanding of US and coalition military organizations, roles and missions.
·Combat experience with any of the following; EOD, counter-IED programs, route clearance, or combat engineering.
·Curriculum development experience, specifically in continual improvement efforts to determine the efficacy of unit training programs and organizational training principles and practices.
·Incorporation of Lessons Learned and TTP’s.
·Experience working with IED-D TADSS, and a practical working knowledge of IED-D and Counter IED organization and doctrine is preferred.
·Possess an existing US DoD Secret Security Clearance

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
·Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
·Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
·Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
·Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
·Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
·Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment as required. In the conduct of their training contractors may encounter hostile forces.
·Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
·Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
·Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
·Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
·Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
·Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
·The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.

Required Education:
·Bachelor's degree from accredited school & six (6) years of related experience, OR four (4) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.107087
