Job description
We are seeking a Security Manager, based in Colombia, South America, working for an international Mining Operator.
This is an exciting role for an established Mine, leading the security operations across the region, for the site.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Planning, organising and controlling the day to day and routine activities of the security department at their respective locations.
Carry out site specific risk assessments and security audits on a regular basis.
Compile fortnightly and monthly reports of their respective locations and forward the same to the Global Director of Security
Liaise with government officials and police personnel to ensure smooth functioning of the security department.
Prepare site security SOP’s, Golden rules, post orders and instructions and ensure compliance.
Carry out daily meetings with key security personnel. Lead the profit protection team and carry out monthly profit protection meetings with stakeholders from other departments.
Responsible for collection of intelligence, developing sources in and around the concession area and other towns and villages.
Ensure proper upkeep and records of all security incidents at the mine and forward the same to the Global Director of Security.
Establish a security control room and necessary infrastructure, prepare, update operational maps and maintain logbooks to record events of routine and suspicious nature.
Responsible for the proper functioning of all security system elements like CCTV, security lighting and radio sets.
Responsible for carrying out training for security teams as per UN Voluntary Principle Initiative (VIP 2000) and other security related subjects. Maintain records of all such training.
Coordinate with sustainability team to ensure smooth relations with community.
Education and Experience
Ten to fifteen years of security experience.
Experience in mining is highly desirable but not a must. Although remote site experience will be a distinct advantage.
Degree Qualified or relevant professional qualifications
Should have prior military experience.
Spanish speaking and working in South America countries will be an advantage.
Required skills and abilities
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent computer knowledge and should be well versed with Microsoft word, excel and power point.
Must have the ability to multi task and work efficiently with cross functional teams.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
A team player is a must.
Offer
USD Dollar Gross Salary $70,000 - $90,000 (Neg) (Local tax rate applies)
Discretionary Bonus based on performance
Production Incentive based on company target
63 calendar days leave
