POSITION SUMMARY:
The Armorer is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep for all weapons. You are also responsible for the ordering of parts and maintaining the logbooks, maintenance data forms, and ASL database.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain weapons logbooks, maintenance data forms, and weapons fault isolation
Remove and replace faulty weapons hardware
Verify repairs of the weapons systems
Load and unload weapons as required
Provide launch and recovery operations of installed weapons at the FARP
Perform only authorized maintenance as per OEM standards
Order repair parts as required
Maintain Authorized Stockage List (ASL) database
Account for all weapons in his/her custody
Maintain weapons qualification, as outlined in the contract and all Task Orders
Up to 90% travel may be required. Travel may include domestic and/or international locations such as Afghanistan or Iraq.
Individual may be required to travel within Afghanistan, Iraq or other international sites, and perform work-related duties in extreme environments and austere living conditions.
Able to work outdoors in the Middle East environmental conditions and temperatures in excess of 120 degrees.
Be available for assignment to OCONUS sites for extended deployment periods.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalent plus factory certification required
Military and/or Law Enforcement or equivalent civilian weapons Armorer school preferred
Four (4) years Military, Law Enforcement or equivalent Civilian Armorer experience
One (1) year OCONUS experience performing as an Armorer
Possess a technical knowledge of weapon repair/maintenance principles, methods, and procedures
Possess weapons repair certifications from various gun manufacturers for the weapons required by Task Order
A&P License required
Shall have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is designated by the employer to be a safety-sensitive position.
He/She shall be factory certified on a continual basis, as required, on all weapons for which he/she is responsible.
Work performed in an office and out of country settings.
Exposure to environment such as loud noise, dust, odors and fumes.
Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel and stoop
The ability to get along with others and work in a team environment.
Access to Export Control Information.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Must be a US Citizen or a US Lawful Permanent Resident
Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
