Hiring Criteria
The Watchkeeper will require 5 years military experience. He will have worked in a busy Operations Room and will have a good working knowledge of VHF communication systems, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be proficient with MS Office 2003/7. He will also have knowledge and experience of the following systems;
* Motorola VHF handheld and base station equipment and antennas
* Antennas and propagation
* Commercial GSM and GPRS systems
* Commercial tracking solutions
* Satamatics transponders
* Iridium satellite phones
* MS Office 2003/7
* Network drives
* Data backup to file servers and NAS drives
* FalconView mapping software
Job Duties
The Watchkeeper will operate and maintain an effective communications capability with deployed teams using radio, satellite and data communications. He will ensure that every team is monitored via a vehicle tracking system and ensure that the system is available to the Security Operations Control Centre staff as required. The Watchkeeper will report directly to the Security Operations Officer.
* Operate communications equipment and ensure there is no loss of communications with deployed teams.
* Maintain a tracking capability whereby all deployed teams are visible on the PC based tracking system.
* Coordinate monthly testing of all transponders and tracking systems.
* Maintain all communications logs and mission associated paperwork, to include but not be limited to MRF submissions and approvals, flap sheets, deployment checklists, skype logs and voice communications logs.
* Be fully conversant with all communications systems used by Aegis/ENI.
* Report faulty equipment to the CISO and assist with fault finding and defect rectification.
* Report any requests for assistance from teams to the Security Operations Officer immediately.
* Ensure passage of information to all addressees as required.
* Ensure daily / weekly reports are distributed as required.
* Provide verbal and written briefs and reports as required.
* Carry out any other duties as directed by the Project management.
