POSITION SYNOPSIS:
To take direct control of the ARU personnel's deployment, as well as the execution portion which involves access control and guarding, safety and wellbeing during the execution of their duties, which is focused on the "Deny" portion of the Security Strategy to ensure safeguarding of South32 employees and Contractors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Serious contenders will have a National Advanced Certificate in Security Management or related field with 3 years’ experience in SAPS, military service or private security capacity of which at least 2 years in a command and control position with specific emphasis on tactical deployment and engagement;
Knowledgeable in Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR), Common Law on Private Security Regulations and site disturbance is essential;
Knowledge and experience of Firearm legislation is essential;
Knowledge of Criminal legislation & rules of engagement is essential;
Knowledge of Crime prevention strategies is essential.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Oversee that the Armed Response Unit (ARU) teams are technically and operationally competent to meet South32 standards;
Advises management on the effectiveness of operational tactics;
Plans and executes close protection tasks for community engagements;
Aligns and executes community and labour unrest Policies & Procedures;
Coordinate the execution of the Tactical Command & Control activities in accordance with the overall Security Strategy, including involvement with significant change initiatives;
Ensure that all relevant information & data is captured as per requirement to assist timeous and effective reporting to stakeholders
