Olive Group requires a high quality, experienced, bilingual Field Security Advisors (FSA) for seismic projects taking place in Chad for 5 months from September 2017 to January 2018. The FSAs will be based at the field project Base Camp in the Kanem Region, Chad and will rotate out every four weeks.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct quality control and quality assurance of the seismic contractor’s security plans, procedures and implementation
Contribute to updating the Country Security Plan as necessary with the Regional Security Manager
To be the liaison point between the contractor and the Chadian armed security detachment & managing field communications and interactions with the Chadian armed security department at the project
Liaise closely in the field with senior staff, notably the Geophysical Project Manager
Provide crisis response and be an integral part of the field emergency response team
Be a qualified, in-date Tier 2 medic, providing medical cover to the senior staff movements
Mentoring and supervising the Chadian armed security detachment as appropriate
Liaise with the Geophysical Project Manager to help ensure that life support requirements agreed by the contractor for the Chadian armed security detachment are met
Mentoring and developing the national Field Security Officer
Work closely with the Community Liaison Officers
Supervisor the contractor’s payments of the armed security forces daily food allowance
Work closely with the contractor’s FSA
Immediately report to the client any relevant security information relating to the project
Produce written daily security reports for the Geophysical Project Manager, Chad Country Manager and Regional Security Advisor
Remotely join a weekly security meeting & other meetings as deemed necessary
Attend contractor planning meetings and provide security tasks to the Chadian armed security detachment
Develop an information gathering network
Provide timely security information and intelligence updates
Conduct security induction for personnel
Develop and implement, in conjunction with the contractor FSA, a security alert status system that is responsive to changing threats and risks
Supervise the contractor’s Journey Management System, in conjunction with the HSE advisor
Ensure that regular security and safety rehearsals and drills are conducted

Qualifications
Fluent in French and English
Arabic speaking is an asset
An excellent communicator, capable of developing constructive and effective working relations quickly
8 years previous military experience; holding a rank equivalent to Captain / Major or Warrant Officer or higher
5 years commercial security experience in similar working environments
Previous experience of 2D and 3D seismic projects desirable
Previous experience on oil and gas exploration projects desirable
Previous experience of commercial security operations in Chad is highly desirable
Previous experience of commercial security operations in Francophone Africa is desirable
Qualified, in-date Tier 2 Medic – First person on the Scene Intermediate or First Response Emergency Care Level 3 and Medicine in Remote Areas – Or equivalent
Medically, psychologically, and physically fit for work in challenging, high threat environments
Able to write and audit detailed security threat and risk assessments, security plans and Standard Operating Procedures
Experience working with, mentoring and supervising host national armed security detachments is essential
Experience working with, auditing and advising seismic contractors is essential
Capable information gatherer and analyst to develop an intelligence picture of the operational surrounding areas
