Job Description:
The SOE Driver Training/PLT Trainer/Mentor shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of Afghan National Army Mechanized Infantry Units. SOE Driver Training/PLT Trainer/Mentor will train, advise and assist counterparts in planning, preparing, and executing Combined Arms, Movement, Maneuver, and Collective training, both mounted and dismounted, in support of the Mobile Strike Kandak’s mission set. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel on Mobile Strike Force Company operations, organizational maintenance management, company supply operations, training, and tactical operations.When necessary, develop tests and visual aids, coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities, and develop train the trainer classes.Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.If required, may use technical experts to assist in training.
Required Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice.Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.
Responsibilities:
Provides command and control, supervision, and technical guidance to the Mobile Strike Force Company Headquarters and Strike Force Platoons; Provides operations training to the Mobile Strike Force Company and platoons to include the platoon leader, platoon sergeant, squad leaders, and drivers for all Strike Force Platoons and Sections; Trains the Mobile Strike Force Company Commander to be responsible for all aspects of the Mobile Strike Force Company and associated property, equipment and facilities; Trains company personnel to manage all facets of Mobile Strike Force operations related to the planning, operations, coordination and evaluation of all methods of company operations. Trains how to command all types of operations to include preventive maintenance and logistical support to the company.
Train duties at the Mobile Strike Force Company level of operations
Train the trainer and monitor trainer progress
Train on company operations, supply and organizational maintenance operations
Shall report to the nearest Team Lead as well as the Program Manager
Trainers will be responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, trainers will be responsible for making on the scene decisions as to how to execute the curriculum
Along with their local site managers, trainers will be responsible for assessing how well the ANA students have learned the coursework
Required Qualifications:
Have been a military E7 or higher with at least five years of experience working at the operational level in a U.S. Army Mechanized Infantry or Military Police Unit to include Stryker, Bradley or M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (ASV) Company and a US Army MOS equal to a 31B, 11B, 11M, 11 or 31 Series Officer Branch Qualification, with Mechanized Infantry or Military Police with M1117 ASV experience.
Must be able to competently operate Personal Computer (PC) Skills and Microsoft Office

Must have an active/current U.S. DoD Security Clearance

Physical & Mental Requirements:
This is an ARMED position. Must obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). As a business necessity, must successfully complete/maintain arming requirements including but not limited to: Psychological evaluation (initial evaluation & annual reevaluations); Completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior
Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc. Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain
Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location in AFG based upon needs of the U.S. Gov’t
Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening & published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear
Work, live & respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with extreme aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions
