Location: Mali

Salary/Rate: £65,000 - £85,000/annum $9k per month + Full Ex-Pat Package


Our client, who was established in 2005 to provide a range of professional and safe unexploded ordnance, mine clearance and ammunition related services to multinational companies, governmental and non-governmental organisations. To date, they have successfully undertaken projects in Angola, DRC, Mali, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Togo, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Côte d`Ivoire and most recently, the Central African Republic.

Amongst their achievements, they have cleared over 26 000 km of routes and roads, removed over 46,000 items of unexploded ordnance and safely destroyed over 290 tonnes of unserviceable and obsolete munitions

Your responsibilities will include:
• Conduct EOD training up to EOD Level 3 for MINUSMA EOD/IEDD Teams.
• Conduct EOD/C-IED awareness Training for MINUSMA TCC countries.
• Conduct IEDD training for MINUSMA EOD/IEDD Teams.
• Supervise and mentor the deployment of MINUSMA EOD/IEDD Teams. This will include deploying with the teams on operational tasks to provide mentoring support and assurance of operating standards.
• Monitor and conduct internal QA on the MINUSMA EOD/IEDD Teams.
• On-going capacity building/development of the MINUSMA EOD/IEDD teams.
• Develop technical notes and course training packages.

To be eligible for these roles you will need the following knowledge and skills:

• Fully qualified IEDD operators with a minimum of 8 years' experience in EOD, IEDD and C-IED including operational experience within the last 3 years. Proof of qualification / certification from a recognised training centre will be required.
• Minimum of 18 months instructor/trainer and mentoring experience.
• Good knowledge of IMAS standards as it pertains to development and implementation of EOD Level 1, 2, and 3, and IEDD operations and training
• Extensive experience of operating within recognized IEDD/EOD Standard Operating Procedures and in the use of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
• Ability to work with local nationals, interpreters, and UNMAS staff.
• Able to work outside of normal schedule when required by Project Manager and project objectives. Standard work week is Monday through Saturday.
• Self-reliant, flexible and able to work independently.
• Hold a valid international driver’s license.
• Must be medically fit, mentally and physically robust to meet the challenge of operating in austere environments, harsh conditions and extremes of temperature.
• Must have relevant medical inoculations and valid records, or be capable of obtaining relevant inoculations (including a yellow fever certificate, which is required for entry to Mali).

As stated there are two posts and they are based as follows:

• One at Bamako, and you will need to have a high level of French if not fluent.
• One at Gao, and they are looking for an English speak for this role.

In return they are offering $9k per month, with a 12 weeks/3 weeks rotation, will all food, accommodation, insurance and medical cover provided in location, was well as all Internet and Satellite TV, and all work clothing, less boots provided by the client as well.
