We have a requirement for a Project Security Manager to support an ongoing project in Jordan. Details relating to the duties etc are shown below.
Overview:
The post of Project Security Manager (PSM) of the wind farm projects in Jordan. The post will be based at the project site near Tafila Jordan, and will report to and be lined managed by the Client Project Manager. The post will be ‘functionally’ led by the clients Regional Security Manager EME. The post will be responsible for delivering security support to wind farm projects and is a 1 year position with potential to expand to support further projects as they come on line in Jordan. The post is key to the Client’s ability to deliver the project in a safe and secure manner and is essential in the delivery of appropriate ‘duty of care’ support to all staff working on the project.
Key Tasks:
Conduct and maintain an appropriate security risk assessment of the extended project area including the site, the accommodation and all transport routes (for both materials and people) used by the project and external risks to the project, area and region.
Ensure the Project Management Team are fully briefed on both current and developing ‘threats’ which could affect the project.
Manage, maintain and implement the Project Security Plan, which should include:
Security Roles and Responsibilities.
A description of the security organisation for the project.
The Control Arrangements for the employment of armed guards if required.
A WTG Road Transport Plan – port to site.
Staff Security Awareness Training Package.
A Staff Journey Management Plan.
Contingency and Evacuation Plan.
Crisis Management Plan.
A Security Communications Plan.
Detailed ‘Actions on’ covering the likely security events that the project and project staff could face.
Be a key business partner for the clients Project Manager and subcontractors in providing security advice and monitoring of their security company operations.
Conduct security awareness and training sessions for all Client and Contractors’ staff.
Oversee the training and knowledge of Security Guards on the project site to ensure that standards are maintained in line with the contractual obligations of the security company and all guidelines and procedures for the project. Where relevant ensure that test exercise scenarios are completed and training is relevant to the threats and scenarios on the risk assessment.
Conduct security briefs for business visitors.
Monitor all business travel to/from the project.
Maintain an active security network with representatives of other multi-national companies operating in the area, Private Security Companies (PSCs) and relevant Government authorities – police and military.
Oversee the provision of security governance and assurance for all parts of the project.
Support crisis response management as appropriate.
Managerial Scope:
Maintain the Project Security Plan.
Manage the Private Security Company under the Client's control and Site Security Supervisor.
Monitor all security spending on the project ensuring that value for money is always achieved.
Oversee the deployment and employment of live-armed guards if required.
Key Challenges:
Understanding the full extent and different stages of the project area.
Gaining the respect and trust of the Project Management Team.
Ability to influence project plans and decisions on security grounds when necessary.
Design and deliver a ‘documented’ security awareness programme for all staff.
Report and document all security incidents on the project using the appropriate process.
Submit daily, weekly and monthly reports to the Project manager and RSM.
Developing and maintaining a security assurance programme.
Reporting:
The Project Security Manager will report to the Project Manager and will be ‘functionally’ led by the Client's Corporate Security Regional Security Manager.

The right candidate would preferably already be based in Jordan
Rotations and daily rates will be discussed with successful candidates.

Qualifications
Competence and experience required:
A detailed and current understanding of the Jordanian / Middle Eastern security environment.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating in a security management role.
Project management experience.
Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Happy to lead a team, but to do their own work on the ground. Both in terms of project delivery and at the computer to produce and maintain plans, procedures, training tools and records.
Ability to work independently.
Status and capability to engage with local law enforcement and intelligence agencies to ensure that the project site has suitable links into these communities.
Working knowledge of Arabic is preferable.
