Job brief

The Security Manager is responsible for directing and administering the implementation of all safety and security programs and initiatives to ensure the safety of guests and team members and the security of the hotel and property in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. He/she must perform all duties related to the management of security staff including hiring, training, team building, and progressive disciplinary actions as necessary. Must be on-call 24/7 to discuss or respond to emergencies or have an assigned back-up.

Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of guests, employees and company property. Routinely inspect the property.
Plans, examines, analyzes, evaluates and supervises the resort security operations, inclusive of physical security assets, security personnel and fire team.
Prepares reports and records for management team.
Evaluates current procedures, practices and precedents for accomplishing the resort activities and functions relative to security.
Identifies and resolves security related problems.
Develops and implements alternative methods for security operation improvement.
Orders supplies and equipment as needed.
Develops preventative security programs, including the supervision of security personnel.
Performs audits of security related performance and conducts physical surveys of premise security, including security equipment condition.
Conducts, supervises and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of the resort regulations, policies and procedures; develops, implements and manages security training.
Assists in preparation of emergency management and contingency planning.
Initiates personnel actions such as recruitment, selections, transfers, promotions and discipline or dismissal measures.
Sets deadlines to ensure completion of operational security functions.
Interprets and disseminates the resort policy to subordinate personnel; and evaluates employee performance.

Requirements
CPP (Certified Protection Professional and Board Certified Security Management)
10-15 year’s prior security experience in law enforcement.
Proven experience as security manager or similar position
Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
Working knowledge of MS Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Committed and reliable
60 hours/6 days work week
Caribbean experience a plus
